Artist Spotlight at The Rodeo: Elliott Brood
Canadian band Elliott Brood plays folk, rock, and alt-country. Labelled ‘blackgrass’ or ‘death country,’ Casey Laforet, Stephen Pitkin, and Mark Sasso form the three-piece band.
Elliott Brood is set to release their latest album Ghost Gardens with Paper Bag Records on September 15th. The 2008 album, Mountain Meadows, was shortlisted for a Polaris Prize, and their 2001 album, Days into Years, won a JUNO for roots album of the year in 2013. Days into Years featured “West End Sky,” which can be heard on the film, Grown Up Movie Star.
