Yikes it’s December!
How in the world did that happen? It seems like yesterday I was dragging my golf clubs out of the basement to start spring golf. Now the clubs are put away and snow shovels seem to be the game in town. But they’re not the only game in town. Thank our lucky stars we have THE BLUES! What Am I Listening To Right Now?
It’s so cool. And so bluesy. I am listening to Erin McCallum. On her cd It’s Time? Nope. From Complicated Woman? Nope. I’m listening to her live. She’s doing a live concert from her living room. A live feed on Facebook. For those of you who haven’t heard Erin McCallum (actually is there anyone?) she has one hell of voice. Big voice, big sound. She can belt it out like few others. And does she like performing? Well yeah, it’s somewhat obvious as she logs onto Facebook and performs a house concert ‘cause she wants to sing up a storm. And how much does she charge to watch her perform on Facebook? $100? Nah. $50? Nope. $2 Not a chance. Nada? Yupper. She does it because she loves to perform. She often performs online with her guitarist, Brian George Harrison who is one heck of a slinger. But Brian is now lighting up his bbq in Yuma Arizona.
Erin is working on new material for the New Year. There’s been one change to her band. Earle Leard will be officially standing with the band as the bass player. But that’s not all. She’s got herself a new, sweet, custom-made guitar she’s dubbed Complicated Woman. With that in hand and a voice that resonates to fans, you can count on some great things coming to the blues world. She’s one dynamite talent!
Next week we’ll bring you more information on some of the great bluesy Christmas concerts to come. For now, keep the spirit of the holidays close to your heart and keep on listening to Blues and Roots Radio.
