The Juno Award for best blues album went to MonkeyJunk for their release Time To Roll.

Congrats go out to band members Steve Marriner, Tony D., Matt Sobb and everyone involved in the recording.
The band is getting set to head out on their 10th Anniversary Tour.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, digital downloads that once were the top-selling format, are no longer the preferred method of getting music. CDs and vinyl are now outselling digital downloads. So keep the trend up, go to live music events and buy physical copies of cds!
So sad to hear of the passing of Jason Buie, one of Vancouver’s most prominent blues artists. Jason had been performing for over 40 years and his passing was sudden reminder of how fragile life can be. He was only 47. I had the privilege of interviewing him when his latest cd came out. He was friendly and quite likeable.
Kitchener Blues Festival
The KBF and the Grand River Blues Society will put on a Youth Legacy Challenge at Bobby O'Brien's in Kitchener on Sunday April 15 from 12-5.
The winner of the Youth Legacy Challenge gets to play at noon on Saturday, August 11 at the Kitchener Blues Festival. Past winners include Spencer MacKenzie, Matt Weidinger, Alysha Brilla and Brendan James Stephens.
