Here are the winners of the Golden Guitars, Australia's equivalent of the Country Music Awards in America. These awards were held in my hometown of Tamworth, sister city to Nashville and home of Country Music in Australia. You probably won't know a lot of these folks but hopefully, in the future, you will. They are wonderful singer/songwriters, many of whom have formed the fabric of Australia's Country Music future and its past.
Congrats to all of the winners, particularly my country music daughters and dear friends, Aleyce Simmonds and Amber Lawrence and my new mate and exceptional talent, Brad Butcher for their awards and Luke O'Shea and Tom Curtain and Dean Perrett. All of them well deserved.

AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY MUSIC ALBUM OF THE YEAR
ENDLESS: The McClymonts
Producer: Andy Mak
I have been writing a lot of reviews lately, as is the trend in January. A lot of artists release new albums in January to coincide with Tamworth. Anthony Taylor is the latest of my reviews. His album has been long awaited and he is the real deal. He would fit in very easily to Nashville. He has that beautiful sound of the 70's and 90's American country male artists, something that is not so much around these days but it is a treasured gift. Anthony brings to this style an Australian touch but you can clearly see where he draws his inspiration from.
Anthony is from Queensland but he is now living in Victoria. He has a lot of respect from his peers as well as his growing legion of fans.
Tracy Coster is part of Australian Country Music royalty. Her Dad, Stan, wrote many songs for the Australian Country Music artist that many artists and fans still call the King, Slim Dusty, long after his passing. Slim is in the record books - world wide - for the amount of albums that he produced and the hits that he made and awards that he won. Tracy has released a tribute to Stan, including songs that he wrote for Slim. It is a wonderful album, full of traditional Australian songs about our great land and the characters in it, including some duets with a diverse array of Australian talent.
Both of these reviews are on CountryAs. Hopefully, I will receive some more albums this week that I ordered, some of the best to be released this year, I think.
There are lots of gigs coming up in the next month, some less than five minutes walk from me, so I am looking forward to these and new albums to come.
Tamworth is done and dusted for another year. I have heard mixed reports about the festival but overall, all is good.
