The amazing Four Chords and The Truth event in Toronto has become so popular that tickets sell out well in advance and even before the line up is announced for the show, there are sure to have been a lot of people that kicked themselves this time around for not securing tickets early enough.
The 12th show in the series had Sylvia Tyson, Russell deCarle ( with Steve Briggs ), Don Amero, Samantha Martin, host and founder Andrea England with special guests Joe Pernice, Shakura S'Aida and Joan Besen
... before I go any further .... I am going to stop right there to take a breath for a second, and let it sink in again the astounding talent we witnessed all on one stage at The Dakota Tavern, my goodness, sometimes I have to pinch myself and realize how very lucky and honoured I am to be able to chat with these amazing artists ' Behind The Scenes '
The Dakota Tavern has to be the perfect venue for this event, it's intimate atmosphere gives it a very special feeling, I know the artists are very aware of the greats that have graced the stage, and the excitement they feel emanates out to the audience. These nights are all about the songs and the community that has sprung up supporting Four Chords and the platform Andrea has created to enable the songs to be heard, it's a listening room, it's very special being up close and personal. What really impresses me is that each artist takes the time to say hello and spend time with the audience, genuinely nice people, I love that !
Thursday March 29th at 10pm EDT you can listen to the chats I had with each artist before and after the show and we'll be playing music from each throughout. The shows will be repeated on Sunday April 1st 9am EDT and again on Wednesday at 7am EDT exclusively on Blues and Roots Radio.
Meeting the wonderful Sylvia Tyson was amazing, we talked about her music past and present and also the novel she is writing.
Russell deCarle is another artist I have a lot of admiration for, he played songs from his brand new album ' Alone In This Crowd ' which he is touring at the moment, I hope to be able to make his performance at Hugh' Room Live on April 24th in Toronto.
Artists I had met before and it was so good to see again on stage were Samantha Martin and Shakura S'Aida, both have brand new albums coming out soon. Samantha releases at The Horseshoe Tavern on April 28th in Toronto, Shakura has yet to announce a release date, both are going to be outstanding, take my word for it.
Don Amero is an amazing artist from Winnipeg and is finishing up his new album set for release soon, an extremely talented performer and a funny guy too, a real pleasure to meet him. His new single ' Live While I'm Alive ' is out now.
Listen in to my show at the times above on Blues and Roots Radio

The one very cool thing about Four Chords and The Truth is that you make friends and lots of them, the love of music is the common denominator.
Take for instance Sock Monkey Jack, he and his Manager Carolyn Keesh ( Murphy ) snapped a photo at a previous event...
...we got talking, found out we both loved music, peanuts and beer and now we watch the shows together.
Brothers in Music !
Have a Happy Easter weekend everyone. We hope to see you at the next Four Chords event in June, or the next one after that in September.
