By Stevie Connor info@bluesandrootsradio.com | Facebook | Twitter | Website BOO ! I hope you are all well, I have had an amazing week at the Folk Music Ontario conference which was held in Toronto this year, so good to catch up with many old friends and meet some new ones, look out for some amazing music coming on the station over the next few weeks, I received over 70 new albums / EP's in our dropbox so I'll be busy for a while. Thank you to the board of directors and staff at Folk Music Ontario for a well organized and informative weekend. Also, thanks to Neale at The Hilton Hotel who upgraded us to a suite on arrival, good things happen to good people they say, what an amazing couple of rooms we were allocated which added to the amazing time we had. I've been pretty busy catching up with scheduling and making sure the wheels keep turning, that's the problem with going away, you have to catch up on returning to the frey. Four Chords and The Truth I am now looking forward to November 23rd which is the next big event for us in Toronto, Andrea England has another stellar line up waiting in the wings to grace the stage at The Dakota Tavern, tickets started selling back in September for this event and it's advised to get yours early if you are in the Toronto area, if you have not heard of it, or have heard but never attended, I would highly recommend coming along and seeing some of the cream of Canada's songwriters up close and personal. Four Chords & The Truth is a quarterly series of “ in the round ” sessions with leading songwriters — modelled on Nashville’s famous Bluebird Cafe sessions but with a greater range of musical genres — which debuted at Toronto’s Dakota Tavern on June 18, 2015. The series is presented in partnership with Jack Daniel’s. Look out for my chats with SATE Ian Janes Sarah Jane Scouten Scott Helman and ... We play a track and have an in depth interview with founder and host, Singer / Songwriter Andrea England, with an excerpt we've called ' Four Chords on The Roof ' ... to find out what that's all about you'll have to tune in to the show ... we have a quick listen also to a track from Tara Slone who was a surprise guest on the night I hope you can join us for the radio show this week and get the scoop. Hopefully we will see you at the next show in Toronto, come along and support live music. Have a safe week ahead everyone Slan Stevie
